Responsibility
To Our Employees and Clients

Weekly Safety Meeting at
Walnut St.
No business objective transcends our commitment to employee safety. To that end, a comprehensive safety program is followed in order to maintain or improve every safety variable at our fabrication facilities and installation sites. A company safety director ensures that we are attaining consistent, recordable improvements. A Preston safety manual and procedures is required reading for all employees. Job applicants must pass a drug test and newly hired employees must complete several on-line safety modules before they are allowed to begin work. In addition to periodic reviews, employee incentives help keep good safety practices at the forefront and reward those employees who faithfully observe them. These and other activities have helped Preston Woodworking achieve an outstanding safety “mod” factor of 0.81, a significant reduction from a good 0.97 in 2004. To consumers and contractors alike, this is an indicator that our employees will be careful and responsible when working at your home or work site. Peace of mind for you – and us.
To Our Community
The Tri-Cities community is a great place to live and raise a family. We are blessed with an abundance of natural beauty and resources. Our educational, medical, spiritual and industrial institutions engender a quality of life realized by few other communities. The Preston Woodworking family is proud to be a part of this community and is committed to doing our share to foster opportunities for enhancing the social, physical and emotional well-being of our citizens. Presently we are actively supporting the following organizations:

Appalachian Fair
Preston Woodworking is pleased to support the Appalachian Fair, our region’s premier annual event showcasing the myriad industries, organizations and talents that make this a wonderful area to live and work. Preston Woodworking expertise was on display at the 2009 “Pick Tennessee Products” exhibition.
Coalition for Kids
Every afternoon, kids come by the vanload to The Rock, a community center under the direction of the Coalition for Kids, Inc. The Coalition is a non-profit organization with a mission to help children in need. Here they find a Safe Place, help with homework, reading and math assistance, music and art lessons, athletics, special preventive programs for violence and substance abuse, and a free snack and dinner. Through the Coalition staff and a network of volunteer counselors, we are eyewitnesses to something wonderful…lives changed, one child at a time.
Doe River Gorge Ministries, Inc.
The mission of Doe River Gorge Ministries is to glorify God by loving people; to help them discover their value and purpose; to guide them in reaching their God-given potential; and to cultivate in them a passion to intimately know God, which results in a genuine heart of worship, a desire for personal purity, and a Christ-centered vision for their lives.
East Tennessee State University Foundation
ETSU boasts a long tradition of success in its fund-raising nucleus, the ETSU Foundation. The Foundation is a separate, legally incorporated, not-for-profit entity founded in 1970 to generate and receive private support for the university. Gifts to the Foundation are invested into a general investment portfolio handled by professional money managing firms and monitored by the organization's standing Investment Committee. The Foundation receives private gifts for the University in accordance with its agreement with ETSU.
