Our Management
Sam Preston, President
Sam Preston literally grew up in the business founded by his father. From sweeping the floors and driving the trucks to milling and installing custom cabinetry, he learned every aspect of the business from the ground floor up. These experiences are fundamental to the respect Sam displays today for the people who work for the company that bears his name. In 1987, having earned a business degree from East Tennessee State University, Sam joined the family business full time. After years of gaining experience in the administrative aspects of the company, Sam became President upon the retirement of his parents. His vision and exceptional ability to spot opportunities has enabled the company to grow and thrive in a demanding and competitive business environment.
Sam’s greatest pride and joy are his wife Caroline and daughters Gracie, Rachel, and Amelia (and a soft spot for dogs Daisy and Tinkerbell). In fact, his greatest moment is anytime someone says “you have a beautiful family”. Off the job, he stays busy with his family, raising and showing registered Hereford Cattle and shopping for antiques.
In addition to home and family, Sam stays busy and is well-respected in the Johnson City Community.

- Member, AGC of Tri-Cities – Board of Directors
- Member, American Hereford Association
- Alumni, East Tennessee State University

Notwithstanding the immense joy and responsibilities of his family and business, Sam does have his weaknesses - mainly Reece Cups and Burberry. Not too bad for a man whose favorite homily gives insight to a positive demeanor that affects all those he meets. “Anyway”
